Powerline: band - best of the 70's/80's happy music
Current mood:cheerful
Category: Music
Venue: Mudcatz

Okay, before you read this, you must promise not to kick me out of the Hard Rock/metal club!!!

Powerline is a refreshing taste of what no other band is doing. While bands find success in 80's covers, Powerline stretches beyond. Check below for the set list. The pinnacle had to be all the Frampton covers with Nicky's talk box. I can't remember the last time I saw one, let alone saw one in use. Nicky and Johnny's vocals can produce some wicked awesome harmonies. Powerline is unique in that it is a 3 piece act so that's always a plus.

Nicky - I could watch him all night; great stage show; extremely talented on lead vocals and guitar; I drooled over his Vai special edition pink guitar

Johnny- wrote me a ticket for DUI in a wheel chair; but I wasn't drunk. Maybe I should join Mafia Wars and have someone "take care of" my ticket; actually, I was too glued to Nicky and Tony to notice Johnny, but from what I heard that night, his drumming was spot on.

Tony- a little cheesy at first glance; he really works the audience with his bass. His finest attribute is his killer harmonies

I do think there is an audience of potential new fans and Powerline is family friendly, so keep them in mind for private parties, conventions, and the like.

The Flipside:
With a little polishing and the band working more as a unit is really all I can find on the flipside. All of that will come with more time playing together. And if you looked at their gig list, they'll be playing out allot together, all over ATL, so find a club on their list and go check 'em out. Tell them Metalin' Mary sent ya!

Thanks, Powerline, for rocking ATL!!!! I hope to catch you guys again later in your tour.

Ciao for now,
